Winter shelter Latitude 46 Tofinou 7 dismasted
When your Tofinou 7M is unmasted, we offer you this other winter cover. The mast is placed on the deck and the cover comes over it.
Description
Due to the presence of its mast, your sailboat is perfectly suited for the use of a custom winter cover.
Make your winter storage period easier by choosing our winter cover.
The custom tarp we make for your boat has no framework, as we take advantage of the presence of the boom to create a kind of tent covering the entire vessel. This reusable tarp represents a long-term saving, lasting from eight to 15 years (with a thorough seam revision after about eight years), depending on how you care for it and absolutely avoiding leaving it in place during storms.
It is crucial to properly adjust the cover, as a strong gust of wind can tear a poorly fitted cover. Proper tensioning of straps and ropes is essential.
The winter cover is equipped with ventilation
Regarding covers, we choose a polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides. This fabric offers advantages such as durability, lightness, reduced elasticity, as well as resistance to mold and abrasion—ideal qualities for protecting your sailboat. However, since this material is not air-permeable, we incorporate essential vents during manufacturing to ensure adequate ventilation under the tarp throughout the winter months.
Quality with a selection of durable marine materials
To ensure maximum lifespan, we avoid using stainless steel eyelets, preferring strong strap buckles or quick-release fasteners. Metal eyelets are known to cause abrasion and should never be in direct contact with the surface to be protected. Our seams are made with sail thread resistant to breaking and UV rays to guarantee optimal durability.
Expertise that guarantees a fitted tarp
The cover for your boat usually comes in 2 parts connected by a zipper, most often between the mast and the cockpit descent. Reinforcements are sewn at all stress points. The cover goes over the stanchions and extends slightly down onto the hull. The tarp is secured from inside the boat at each stanchion base, usually by a strap passing through a ladder lock.
We never plan for fastenings that require drilling; there are enough natural attachment points on board.
The mast base is enclosed in a sleeve that is strapped at the top to limit water ingress.
The design and execution are carefully crafted to provide you with protection that fully meets your requirements.
