Description

The roof canopy includes:

  • a structure made of 316L stainless steel hoops (the only type resistant to salty air), with tube diameters of 25mm. The hoops are delivered already connected by 316L stainless steel joints, ready to be inserted into the hinged plates to be screwed onto the roof.
  • the acrylic-coated fabric canvas.
This is an assembly of 78 pieces of fabric including:
    • the marine canvas itself, with the exterior made of fabric and the interior coated to make it waterproof,
    • the 1mm transparent crystal, treated with UV protection. The glazed sections of the canopy ensure optimal visibility. Crew members can monitor surrounding traffic, the heading, and sail trim while staying protected.
    • reinforcements placed at strategic points known to wear prematurely. The sides of the canopy are fully reinforced as they suffer the most from exposure to the elements and deteriorate fastest.
    • The canopy is entirely trimmed for a perfect, durable, and aesthetic finish.
    • The stitching is done with UV-treated sail thread, ensuring it will not come undone prematurely due to sun, moon, or saltwater exposure.
  • the installation hardware, made of 316L stainless steel, including mounting plates for the stainless steel tubes and various accessories such as rails, tenax fasteners, screw-in snaps, and canvas buttons. Each canopy model includes all or part of this hardware.
  • the installation plan. This diagram shows you where to drill. The installation instructions for our canopies are emailed to you along with this plan at the time your canopy is shipped.

We take great care in packaging the hoops to ensure the stainless steel structure does not deform during transport.
The complete canopy is shipped to you by carrier within 8 weeks.

Please note that the lifespan of a canopy fabric is 10 years, and we provide replacement canvases for our canopies.

Rest assured that you are making a durable investment by choosing our canopy model for your Gibert Marine Gib'Sea 262.
