The custom cover we make for your boat has no frame: instead, we make use of the boom to create a tent-like structure that covers the entire boat. This reusable cover is a cost-effective long-term investment and can last from eight to 15 years, depending on how well it is maintained, provided it is always removed during storms. The seams should be thoroughly checked and reinforced after about eight years.

It is crucial to ensure the cover is properly fitted, as strong winds can tear a poorly fitted cover. The straps and ropes must be tensioned correctly.

The winter cover features ventilation

We make our covers from polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides. It is strong, lightweight, low-stretch, and resistant to mould and abrasion—ideal qualities for protecting your sailboat. However, this material is not breathable, so we sew in essential vents to ensure airflow beneath the cover during the long months it is in place.

Quality materials selected for durability in marine conditions

To maximise the cover's lifespan, we avoid stainless-steel eyelets and use strong webbing loops or quick-release fasteners instead. Metal eyelets are known to cause abrasion and should never come into direct contact with the surface being protected. We use UV-resistant, high-strength sail thread to ensure our seams last as long as possible.

Expert craftsmanship for a perfectly fitted cover

In most cases, your boat cover comes in two sections joined by a zip, usually between the mast and the cockpit entrance. Reinforcements are sewn at all chafe points. The cover goes over the stanchions and hangs just slightly over the hull. It is secured from inside the boat at each stanchion base, usually with a strap threaded through a ladder lock. 
We never include fixings that require drilling, as there are enough natural attachment points on board. 
The mast base is enclosed in a sleeve that is strapped at the top to limit water ingress.
