Description

With its mast already in place, your sailboat is ideally prepared for a custom winter cover.

Make winter storage easier with our winter cover.

The custom cover we make for your boat has no frame, as we use the boom to create a kind of tent that covers the entire vessel. This reusable cover is a long-term investment and can last from eight to 15 years (with a thorough seam overhaul after around eight years), depending on how well it is maintained, provided it is always removed during storms.

It is crucial to fit the cover correctly, as strong gusts can tear a poorly fitted cover. Proper tension on the straps and lines is essential.

The winter cover is ventilated

For our covers, we use polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides. This fabric offers several advantages, including strength, light weight, low stretch, and resistance to mould and abrasion, making it ideal for protecting your sailboat. However, as this material is not breathable, we incorporate essential vents during manufacturing to ensure adequate ventilation beneath the cover throughout the winter storage months.

Quality, with a selection of durable marine-grade materials

To ensure maximum lifespan, we avoid using stainless-steel eyelets, preferring sturdy webbing loops or quick-release fasteners. Metal eyelets are known to cause abrasion and should never come into direct contact with the surface being protected. Our seams are sewn with UV-resistant sail thread that resists breakage, ensuring optimal durability.

Expert craftsmanship for a perfectly fitted cover

In most cases, your boat cover comes in two sections joined by a zip, usually between the mast and the cockpit companionway. Reinforcements are sewn at every chafe point. The cover passes over the stanchions and extends just slightly down over the hull. It is secured from inside the boat at each stanchion base, usually with a strap threaded through a ladder lock.
We never include fixings that require drilling, as there are plenty of suitable attachment points already on board.
The mast base is enclosed in a collar that is strapped at the top to limit water ingress.

Every detail of the design and construction is carefully considered and carried out to deliver protection that meets your expectations.
