The custom cover we make for your boat has no frame. Instead, we use the boom to create a tent-like structure that covers the entire vessel. This reusable cover offers long-term savings and can last from eight to 15 years, depending on how well it is maintained. The seams should be thoroughly checked and reinforced after around eight years, and the cover must always be removed before storms.

It is crucial to fit the cover correctly, as strong winds can tear a poorly fitted cover. The straps and lines must be tensioned correctly.

The winter cover is ventilated

For our covers, we use polyester fabric coated with PVC on both sides. It offers several advantages, including strength, light weight, low stretch, and resistance to mould and abrasion—qualities that make it ideal for protecting your sailboat. However, as this material is not breathable, we incorporate essential vents during manufacture to ensure adequate ventilation beneath the cover throughout the winter storage period.

Quality materials selected for marine durability

To maximise the cover’s lifespan, we avoid using stainless steel eyelets, opting instead for sturdy webbing loops or quick-release fasteners. Metal eyelets can cause abrasion and should never come into direct contact with the surface being protected. We use UV-resistant, high-strength sail thread to ensure our seams last as long as possible.

Expert craftsmanship for a well-fitted cover

In most cases, your boat cover comes in two sections joined by a zipper, usually between the mast and the cockpit companionway. Reinforcements are sewn in at all chafe points. The cover goes over the stanchions and extends just slightly down over the hull. It is secured from inside the boat at the base of each stanchion, usually with a strap threaded through a ladder lock buckle.
We never use fixings that require drilling, as there are plenty of suitable existing attachment points on board.
The mast step is enclosed by a mast boot, which is strapped at the top to help limit water ingress.
