Description
The winter cover for the Medline 5.8 RIB is an essential piece of equipment to protect your boat from bad weather, UV rays and dirt during the winter months or when it is not in use for an extended period.
As it is easy to handle, you can also put it back on between outings during the season.
The boat cover made by SNA is crafted from a high-quality marine-grade material: lightweight, 325 g/m² polyester coated with PVC on both sides, half the weight of a truck tarpaulin.
The cover protects the entire boat, from the bow (with the bow roller remaining accessible on 95% of our covers) to the transom, excluding the engine so that it can be tilted all the way up. You can find covers for your outboard motor on our website.
The cover is attached to the rubstrake (also known as the rubbing strip, it absorbs impacts so that the float itself is not in direct contact) using hooks connected by shock cord. For a secure, even fit, the shock cord (heavy-duty elastic cord) passes through eyelets positioned around the entire perimeter of the cover. To prevent the stainless-steel eyelets from coming into contact with the float, we sew a PVC fabric flap beneath them. The plastic hooks attach to the channel underneath the rubstrake. For full details on how to attach the cover, see our video installation tutorial.
You will see that installing the boat cover does not require any drilling.
We use all the attachment points already present on your inflatable boat.
The boat cover made for you after you place your order is a custom-made cover, which means it is tailored to the specific features of your Medline 5.8.
We check the position of the console when it is bolted on, and whether the boat has a bimini, roll bar, guardrails, and so on.
For example, if the console is not moulded into the boat, its position must be confirmed using a measurement form, which we will send you after you place your order or which you can download and fill in right away.
Select the bimini and roll bar options when adding the product to your basket. You will also need to fill in a measurement form so we can make the openings required for the roll bar legs.
We plan ahead as much as possible to ensure you are completely satisfied with your purchase.
The boat cover is fitted with a vent to ensure airflow beneath the cover.
All seams are sewn with sail thread that is highly resistant to UV rays, ensuring your cover lasts for many years.
The cover is delivered in a bag.
This SNA marine accessory offers more than just seasonal protection. It preserves the value of your investment by minimising wear and tear caused by the elements. Your boat stays in better condition and ready to sail. As well as protecting your boat, our cover offers practical benefits too. Easy to handle, it can be put on between outings during the season.
Please note that this full cover must be removed before towing the boat on the road.
During the boating season, it is also useful to have console and seat covers that you can put on each evening instead of using the mooring cover.
Finally, you can rest assured that our boat cover is of exceptional quality. It is also commonly known as a mooring cover, although it is more difficult to install when the boat is on the water. Made by our company, SNA, in Morbihan, we have been your trusted partner in marine protection for 13 years.
The cover must be installed with the backrest of the rear bench folded down.
Please indicate whether or not there is a stainless-steel handrail on the windscreen. This does not affect the price, but it is essential for making the cover.
Covering the ends of the floats is one of the ongoing improvements we have made in response to customer feedback.
This design maximises UV protection and makes it easier to install at anchor. By fitting the rear section into place, you can tension the cover and unroll it towards the bow.
The cover can come into contact with water.
Although we do not recommend installing it at anchor, it is possible.
